My relationship with the Library
My relationship with the library is nothing special. I like going to Carnegie to do my homework, but I don’t necessarily consider it a library, it feels more like work space. My relationship with Carnegie has nothing to do with books or the building’s “purpose” and everything to do with the fact that it is a silent building in which I can work. Carnegie is a great place to be efficient and get my work done. On the flip side my relationship with Bird Library is even less, and I don’t like how loud and social it is; meaning that is not a good work environment for me. However, I like Pages Cafe in Bird and that students can rent study rooms. The study rooms are really helpful when trying to prepare for an exam. More often than not, I get breakfast at Pages cafe, and occasionally, I will sit down and try to get work done, but for the most part, my relationship with Bird Library is due to the yummy coffee and bagels they have. I have a BIO study session at Bird, but it is in a private study room. I have never been the kid who was always in and out of the library. If I checked out a library book when I was little, chances are it was not getting read and then getting lost in my house for two weeks. So, even in the past, I haven’t had a personal relationship with libraries, meaning I will keep my relationship with both libraries strictly school-oriented.
